Will I look frozen or overdone?
No! The best injectable is undetectable. Our goal is always to give you natural, beautiful results. You will look more attractive, younger, less tired, and less saggy, but definitely not overdone.
What age should I start getting treatments?
Aging depends on our genetics and our lifestyle so there is not an exact age for when to start. In addition, we have treated patients as young as 18 who have had an insecurity that required a minor correction. As a family physician I believe prevention is the best medicine and therefore the earlier you start the better. That way you can do minor tweaks as you age, giving you more natural results. An earlier start prevents deep lines and wrinkles from forming, which are very difficult to treat later on in life. We recommend to at least have a consultation in your 30’s to see what your options are.
Isn’t neuromodulator a “toxin”?
Neuromodulator, such as Botox and Dysport, are derived from a protein. What makes something a “toxin” is simply the dose. For example, water or Acetaminophen (ex. Tylenol) are also considered toxins at high doses. In conventional medicine, neuromodulator has been studied since the 1970’s. We safely inject high doses of neuromodulator into patients for chronic migraines, overactive bladder, and muscle rigidity in patients who have suffered a stroke or have cerebral palsy. In cosmetic medicine we use much tinier amounts and therefore can do this very safely and reliably. Neuromodulator is approved by Health Canada.
How much will it cost?
It is always best to book a consultation to discuss your treatment plan. Price depends on the degree of correction or enhancement needed, the number of areas you want to treat, and how quickly you want to achieve your results. Yes, price is important to everyone, but this should never be the deciding factor when choosing an injector. There are serious risks associated with these procedures and it involves your precious face. It is never worth saving a few hundred dollars to go to someone unqualified, using cheap products, or attracting patients only by being the least expensive in town.
If I stop doing treatments will my skin be stretched out or look worse?
No, just as your body slowly naturally degrades your own collagen and hyaluronic acid, it will do the same with injectables. Similarly as your neuromodulator wears off you will return to your baseline, or slightly improved. Most women love the way they look and continue to maintain their results.
What can I do if I want to age without injectables, but still look as good as I can?
There are still several very effective professional skin treatments that can improve skin quality. In addition, a medical-grade home skin care regimen is one of the most important things all women should be using on a daily basis. We also suggest to consider Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP), a completely natural treatment, which relies on growth factors in your own blood to stimulate cell renewal.
Will it hurt?
There is minimal pain associated with these procedures. We use lots of tricks, such as numbing cream, to make your experience as comfortable as possible.
I have an event coming up, when is the best time to book a treatment?
We suggest 4-6 weeks ahead of time. That way any bruising or swelling will have resolved and it leaves time for a potential touch up before the big day.
How long do the treatments last?
Neuromodulator lasts around 3-5 months. Dermal fillers last 9-24 months depending on the location and product used. Results vary.
Why do you charge a 50$ booking fee?
Like you, we are very busy and our time is limited. We feel a 50$ fee is very reasonable for the value you will receive during a holistic, customized consultation with our doctor. This amount can also be used towards your services if booked within 60 days. We feel it is also fair to charge a 50$ booking fee for other appointments. This helps to ensure notification of at least 24 hours if you need to cancel your appointment.
